Fall into a New Beginning
“[T]hat old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air ... Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year's mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.” ― Wallace Stegner, Angle of Repose
I love fall and the crisp, fresh feel in the air, the big puffy white clouds and the blue skies. I look forward to wearing sweatshirts and sweaters and planning for cozy nights by the fireplace inside, or fire pit outside.
I also love the idea of an "autumnal beginning", which gives us a way to refresh and re-energize our plans and goals. As the garden goes to sleep, and the light of day grows shorter for outdoor activities, I am looking forward to focusing on my artwork and producing more paintings. The yellows, reds and oranges of fall are a warm contrast to the cool air and brighten the days when the skies are gray and hinting of the winter to come.
I wish you a happy fall filled with color and new beginnings!
